It's time to say goodbye to Google My Business app at some point. It will be relaunched as Google Business Profiles. Google is emailing the app users, saying that the Google My Business app is being replaced soon.
This official email states that you should "start using Google Maps and Search to keep your Google Business Profile updated and connect with your clients." It then links to the Google Maps app on Android or iOS.
The email includes this GIF showing off what to do in the Google Maps app:
As you can see, the email does not provide a final date on when the app will be removed.
When do We say Goodbye to Google My Business App?
As you can see, the email does not provide a final date on when the app will be removed.
If we got it right, the previous names think we are now Google Business Profile. Previously, it was Google My Business (2014), and before that, it was Google+ Local (2012). In 2010, it was Google Places, and back in 2007, it was Google Local Business Center. So as you can see, Google My Business got a lot of names. This latest name will not even last either.
Google said they want businesses with a single listing to manage their listing in Google Search and Google Maps. Google does not wish you to use the latest Google Business, Profile manager. Instead, please search for your business in Google Search and Maps and edit it there itself. You can search for your business name or [my business]. Google has been moving in this direction recently, but we have seen signs of this coming since 2017. Those managing multiple business listings, like chains or local SEOs, can still leverage the Google Business, Profile manager.
You can now claim and verify your local business directly in the search results with this process. To do this, you don't need a Google Business Profile manager. Be ready to say goodbye to Google My Business app soon as Google will terminate the mobile app anytime. You need to directly manage it in the Google Maps or Google Search app. At least officially, Google is also rolling out call history and reading receipts for messages with many new features for a better user experience.
